1. Who is responsible
The controller for personal data processed through www.thefounderstore.com is Mingenta LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, represented by its Managing Director Marc Jost Flohr ("we", "us"). Contact: privacy@thefounderstore.com.
2. What we collect
Account data. Email address, password hash (handled by our authentication provider), and, if you provide them, your name, company, role, company stage, industry and geography.
Beta applications. Name, email, company, what you are building and what you need, so we can review your request for access.
Content you submit. Community questions, saved resources, followed topics, resource suggestions, partner applications and messages sent through our contact form.
Newsletter data. Your email address and the place you subscribed from, if you sign up for the Builder Brief.
Technical data. IP address, browser and device information and request logs, processed by our hosting and infrastructure providers for security and operation of the site.
3. Why we process it and on what legal basis
To provide and secure the platform and your account — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). To review beta access requests and respond to enquiries — contract and legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). To send the Builder Brief and other marketing — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), withdrawable at any time. To keep records and comply with law — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your shopping cart. These are required for the site to work. We do not use advertising cookies. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
5. Who we share data with
We use carefully selected processors: cloud hosting and database/authentication infrastructure, transactional email delivery, and e-commerce and payment processing for shop orders. They act on our instructions under data processing agreements. We do not sell personal data.
6. International transfers
We are based in the United States and some of our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum and Swiss adaptations where applicable) or another valid transfer mechanism.
7. How long we keep data
Account and profile data for as long as your account exists, and then up to 90 days in backups. Beta applications for up to 24 months after a decision. Newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Contact messages for up to 24 months. Longer where the law requires it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example your local EU data protection authority, the UK ICO, or the Swiss FDPIC). California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and may opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" — we do neither. To exercise any right, email privacy@thefounderstore.com.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database authorisation so that your data is only accessible to you and, where necessary, to authorised administrators. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risk low.
10. Children
The platform is intended for adults building businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
11. Changes
We will update this policy as the platform develops and will note the date of the most recent change at the top of this page.
